nism̓aakqin (Our Land). Update: Campfire Prohibition Rescinded in the ḥaḥuułi
The Huu-ay-aht First Nations Government is in support of the Coastal Fire Centre and Parks Canada's decision to rescind the Category 1 Campfire Prohibition effective Friday, May 15, at 12:00 PM, due to favourable weather and low wind forecasts.
At this time, we will not be imposing any local Category 1 prohibitions within the territory. Citizens and Visitors, please know that Category 2 and 3 open fires remain prohibited.
⚠️ Safety Rules:
• Small Fires Only: Max 0.5m x 0.5m (Category 1).
• Prohibited: Category 2 & 3 open fires remain banned.
• Be Prepared: Keep 8L of water or a shovel nearby.
• Full Extinguish: Ashes must be cool to the touch before you leave.
