In Memory of Emma Katz
This past year, we lost someone very dear to the Walden community, Emma Katz, a devoted camper and staff member whose warmth and quiet leadership touched everyone around her.
Emma cherished the simple moments at camp, the handheld walks, the gentle conversations, and the way she made every child feel seen. She spent hours with Colour campers, braiding hair, beading, and listening with patience and care. She loved the true heart and feeling of Walden and understood its spirit deeply.
In Emma’s memory, we have created a special bench and Little Library in the Colour Unit, a place where campers can sit, read, and rest. It is a space for connection, reflection, and quiet joy, just as she offered to so many.
We extend our love to Emma’s family, friends, and all those who carry her in their hearts.
