Sundance Lodge is now closed for the winter. We’ll see you next season, or this summer if you join us for a horseback adventure in the backcountry! 🐎

We got a nice refresh of snow at Sundance Lodge trail last weekend ❄️ and it looks like another round is coming this Sunday!

If you’ve been thinking about heading out here to spend a cozy night at the lodge, we’ve got some good news - we’ve extended our opening until next weekend (March 13–15). That means one last chance to stay with us this winter.

It’s shaping up to be a great way to wrap up the season. ⛷️

Sundance trail update from today!
Good snow coverage from Healy Pack Station to Brewster Creek junction, but rocks are still lurking under the surface. Ski with care.

We are expecting 15 cm of snow on Thursday, and tracks will be set after that.
Fat tire biking is also a great alternative travel option.

❄️ Sundance Lodge Update ❄️

Thanks to everyone who’s been checking in. Our team monitored conditions closely right up to the last moment, but unfortunately the recent warm temperatures have melted the snowpack on the access trail.

We’re open today (Friday), however we had to cancel bookings for this weekend and next weekend. Guests with reservations should have already received a message from us.

Thank you for your understanding. Like many of you, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for fresh snow soon 🤞❄️

Trail Conditions Update for 30th Jan, 2026

We’re looking forward to welcoming guests to our Sundance Lodge and wanted to share a quick update on current trail conditions so you can plan your visit.

The access trail is being regularly maintained; however, recent weather patterns have brought limited new snowfall. As a result, the trail surface is currently quite firm and fast. These conditions are well suited to hiking and fatbiking, and many guests have found both to be enjoyable and efficient ways to access the lodge.

For cross-country skiing, the current surface tends to favor more experienced skiers who are comfortable with firm, fast snow and variable terrain. Those planning to ski in should be prepared for expert-level conditions and ensure they have appropriate equipment and experience.

As always, conditions can change, and we’ll continue to monitor and maintain the trail as weather allows. We appreciate you taking the time to prepare and look forward to hosting you for a great backcountry experience. ❄️

Cheers to the end of the season! Sundance Lodge is officially closed. We're already looking forward to next winter!
