Happy Saturday! Today is general election day for the local government election AND the grand re-opening of our weekend breakfast service. Unfortunately, it is also a stormy day and our power went out early this morning.

We are still open for breakfast today, but starting a little later at 9 am so we don’t have to fumble around in the dark quite so much. See you this morning for a romantic candlelit breakfast

Good news breakfast lovers! We’ve decided to re-launch our full breakfast service for the Fall. Join us Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00am to 1:00pm in the Wells Hotel Dining Room. Expect the return of favourites like huevos rancheros, French toast, the breakfast BELT, and real fruit smoothies. Warm up by the fire, and enjoy bottomless coffee from Moonshine coffee roasters. Looking forward to having you back!

A reminder that we will also be closed this Sunday & Monday for a staff retreat, so our schedule for the coming days is as follows:

Sad to miss our tropical specials? The good news is that they are still here! Stop in this weekend for a beautiful coconut salmon curry or the rich and warming Oaxacan corn chowder. Nothing beats the rainy day blues like a taste of the tropics 🌺🍍🏝️

Fall is here and so are our Fall hours!

Starting October 1st, our Pub & Kitchen will be open Friday to Tuesday, 4pm - 8pm, closed Wednesdays & Thursdays.

As always, our rooms are available for rent 365 days of the year.

Our Pub may be quieter, but our staff are still busy with several catering and private events through the Fall. A reminder the Pub will be closed to the public on some additional days to accommodate those events:
* Friday & Saturday, October 2 & 3
* Sunday & Monday, October 11 & 12
* Friday & Saturday October 30 & 31
* Friday, November 6

We will also be closing for two weeks for rest, repair, and renovation November 11 to 26, re-opening on the 27th.

We look forward to expanding again when the snow falls, with new winter menu items and hours, as well as an exciting new bakery and breakfast service in our Dining Room.

In the meantime, we relish the opportunity to slow down, change with the seasons, and express our gratitude for all our amazing guests this year. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Wishing you a beautiful season ahead!

FRAUD ALERT. We’ve just been informed of suspicious WhatsApp messages being sent to some of our guests referencing their upcoming stay at the Wells Hotel. These messages are not legitimate. A reminder that we do not take payment in advance and encourage you to email us at [email protected] if you have received one of these messages.

We have contacted our reservation management system provider who confirms this an issue across multiple hotel properties on their system, not just ours. Their IT team is investigating.

Today’s the day! The last day of Barkerville’s Main Season and our 3rd annual end of season BBQ. The weather will be most excellent, but the wasps may have other ideas, so we’ll set up our buffet inside the hotel with seating both inside and out.

*Update: we're adding trivia to the mix! Starting at 7pm, Wells Culture Trivia begins in the Pub!*

Today’s feast is free and open to all in celebration of our culture and hospitality workers. We’ve prepared for 100 people and the buffet is open 6 pm to 8pm. The menu includes:
🍗 roasted chicken
🌽 corn on the cob
🥔 mashed potatoes and gravy
🥦 southwest broccoli salad
🍉 melon salad
🍋 iced tea
