UPDATE: Hi Rally in the Valley Riders!
This has been a long-awaited post—one that I initially dreaded having to make, but I now bring it to you with good news.
As many of you know, Rally in the Valley had partnered with the Legion several months ago to give our event a home. After months of collaboration and planning, the Legion—much to my surprise—decided to withdraw their support. This left Rally in the Valley without a home base, and it was absolutely heartbreaking. I had poured my heart and countless hours into this, and the idea of having to cancel was devastating—not just for me, but for all of you who’ve been planning to attend, for the local businesses preparing to welcome us, and for the vendors who were already secured.
That said, I want to be clear that I hold no harsh feelings toward the Legion. They had their reasons for stepping back, and I respect that.
But here’s where things turn around.
Thanks to a couple of dedicated women in our community who refused to let this event fall by the wayside, we found a new home base!
I’m beyond thrilled to announce that the Ashgrove Inn has stepped up and will be hosting the event! This will now be the spot for our live bands and vendors. While it might not be your traditional rally venue, I wasn’t willing to let this event fall apart—for my community here in Barry’s Bay or for all of you, my fellow riders.
The Ashgrove Inn offers a beautiful setting right on the lake, complete with a restaurant, patio, and an indoor venue in case of rain. We’ve got everything we need to make this rally amazing.
And let’s not forget—we still have the best riding in Ontario right here in the Highlands. That hasn’t changed. The winding roads, the scenic routes, and the unbeatable atmosphere are all still waiting for you.
As I said in my original post—it’s us, the riders, who will make this event happen and help it grow. So let’s do exactly that. Let’s make it happen, and let’s make it grow organically.
