Alright, serious question for the fry connoisseurs out there!
When it comes to making the perfect French fry… what matters more to you-size or flavour?
Do you go for those big, chunky potatoes that give you those long, Instagram-worthy fries?
(You know, the kind that make you feel like a professional chef even if you’re just standing in your kitchen in sweatpants.)
OR do you pick the smaller potatoes because the flavour is unreal, even if your fries come out looking more like “rustic nuggets” than classic fries?
Here’s the scoop:
• Large potatoes = longer, more uniform fries, crispy outside + fluffy inside. Great for presentation (and showing off a little).
• Smaller potatoes = often more concentrated flavour, but shorter fries and a bit more effort to prep.
The real secret though? It’s not just size — it’s the type of potato. High-starch potatoes (like Russets) are the MVPs for that crispy-outside, soft-inside combo we all want.
So what’s your vote:
🔥 Big potatoes for the aesthetic
😋 Small potatoes for the flavour
🤷♂️ Or do you just eat the fries and not overthink it like me?
