It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of one of the Beaverlodge Boys and Girls Camp Society’s greatest champions, Cindy McNeil.
Cindy’s loss has left a profound impact on our camp, our community, and all those lucky enough to have known her. Although this heartbreaking tragedy happened two months ago, we are still coming to terms with her absence and trying to pick up the many pieces she left behind.
Cindy was more than just a volunteer—she was a force. A true warrior for our community, she poured her heart into everything she did. From organizing events to handling logistics, doing the heavy lifting, managing books, mentoring youth, and cheering on every child, Cindy truly did it all. Her dedication was unmatched, and her absence is felt deeply every single day.
We ask for your continued patience and understanding as our camp organizers and volunteers work hard to take on the many roles Cindy so passionately filled. She leaves behind an inspiring legacy of service, kindness, and unwavering commitment.
Beaverlodge Boys and Girls Camp will be placing a memorial bench in the new playground, which she worked so hard to attain for children when camping. If you visit, we hope you will sit on the bench and honour some of the memories she helped create for you and your families.
Cindy, thank you for everything you embodied, and all that you did for our community, and our camp. Thank you for the love you showed in everything you did for our community, and our kids.
You are so dearly missed.
