We really appreciate the Google reviews we have received and thank you for every one. This one deserves a shout out as it speaks to Bell Island and why we do what we do.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"Unforgettable Stay at Bell Island Cottages – A True Newfoundland Treasure!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Bell Island Cottages, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. From start to finish, it was the perfect getaway! The cottages themselves are absolutely charming — each one painted a different vibrant color, reminiscent of the iconic row houses in St. John’s. This little detail added such a special touch and captured the cheerful, welcoming spirit of Newfoundland perfectly. The cottages were charming with all the comforts of home.

Blesssd with stunning views of Conception Bay. Waking up each morning to the peaceful water and fresh ocean air was something I won’t soon forget. It’s the kind of place that immediately makes you slow down and soak in the moment.

What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. Everyone we met — from the hostess to the locals around the island — was so friendly and genuine. It made us feel more like welcomed guests than tourists. You truly get a sense of community here.

Getting to Bell Island was an adventure in itself. The ferry ride was easy, scenic, and a fun way to begin the trip. Once on the island, there was so much to explore — from the historic mine tour, to beautiful cliffside views, walking trails, hidden beaches, and even friendly little shops and eateries (you have to go to Dick’s - amazing). There’s something here for everyone, whether you're looking to relax or explore.

If you're considering a visit to Bell Island, I wholeheartedly recommend staying at Bell Island Cottages. It's a magical place where comfort meets character, and where you’ll leave with full hearts and lasting memories. We can’t wait to return!"

Our very own cliffsides looking toward THE BELL is featured in this article and likened to be as breathtaking as the famous cliffs of Ireland. I think our draped cliffsides nudges just ahead of those in the motherland but I might just be a wee bit prejudice ;).
Book your mock 'international adventure'. I don't think you would be disappointed.

DA'BOOTS of BELL ISLAND
Like every Newfie tale....the story grows....
Stretching over 100 feet from the Atlantic Ocean and reaching to the very tip of our iron ore cliffside; naturally carved and beautifully present; a magnificent pair of RUBBER BOOTS.
Quite an apt phenomena if you think about it, as Newfoundland history has been built on the hardworking backs of farmers, miners and fisherman alike who have toiled our land and sea generation on generation. And seen on the feet of every one of those were no doubt a set of rubber boots. Those boots stood alongside 10 other pairs in the porches of every household of years gone past; and probably near just as many today. A strong symbol of our everyday existence. Worn to haul in the nets, fill up the ore carts, turn over hay and turn out the cows in the meadow, to hang the clothes on the line and for certain even a scuff up at a good old fashioned kitchen party. To stand watch as she awaits his safe return; traipsing through the fields to pick wild berries or eagerly stamp in the unknown depths of a pathway puddle.
What every Newfoundlander, whether a size 1 or a size 14, stand in is also the very essence of what we stand for. SIMPLE in the best way possible...no need to complicate things.
This natural carving in our land serves as a reminder of who we are, where we come from and what the path ahead should be. Our call to represent the spirit of a true Newfoundlander; resilient, determined, good natured, kind hearted and God fearing.
When I see them now I am taken back to my own childhood in our simple farm house. Standing by the wood burning stove and hearing the latch click as Dad comes in with a gust of the cold sea salt wind chasing behind him. He's humming a sing song worble as he shuts fast the creaky storm door. And before he could lay hat on peg and step out of his 'rubbers' Mom's stern voice "Leave those mucky old boots"... once shiny black with a red tipped toe, now slightly weathered with the splattering of red mud well up their side , 'On the newspaper before ya comes in!"

You too can experience the essence of Newfoundland by ferrying across the picturesque Tickle to Bell Island, HOME of these iconic Newfoundland Rubber Boots. Where the rugged landscape and welcoming people will leave an indelible mark on your heart and soul. And as you float past this carving, looking forward to the many other wonders of our small island in Conception Bay; know, that in that simple minute, you too are symbolically witnessing our forefathers of yester year just stepping in for their evening tea.
