Montrose Inn Boutique B&B Our home, formerly known as The Montrose Inn, will now be enjoyed by ourselves and our family as we have decided to retire from the hospitality industry.

Thank you to all of you who have supported our journey since 2015. Welcome to the Montrose Inn, a traditional Boutique Bed & Breakfast in Quinte West, centrally located within minutes of Belleville, Trenton, and Prince Edward County. Montrose Inn is one of the best examples of ante-bellum architecture in Ontario. It was built in 1916 by Robert J. Graham, a prominent businessman and former mayor of

Belleville, and remained in the family until the early 1980’s. The Inn with its many original features, grand crown mouldings, solid oak paneling, grand staircase, fixtures, and workings has been updated with modern amenities and decor that celebrates the era while being fresh and inviting. We offer one well appointed guest room, with one queen-sized bed, private 4 piece bathroom and air-conditioning, comfortably sleeping two people; and of course, we provide a lovely freshly prepared breakfast for our overnight guests. The Inn features original artwork, antiques, luxurious linens, and amenities. Our overnight guests have access to a grand parlour, stately dining room, inviting library, front verandah and semi-private 2nd storey verandah (seasonally). The beautifully manicured grounds ( 6.5 acres ) include several gardens where you can relax and enjoy the park like surroundings. We are a pet-free and smoke-free/vape-free/cannabis-free environment. We provide a gazebo area adjacent to the Inn for smoking/vaping; however, the Inn and its verandahs as well all other buildings are strictly smoke/vape/cannabis free. We are not open to the public, and the Inn and its grounds are reserved for family use, as well as the use of our registered overnight guests. Suzette & Roger,

It’s official… today we take down our business sign and close this chapter of our lives.

Roger and I took ownership of the Montrose Inn, our beloved home, in 2015. And today we have made our decision to retire from the hospitality industry official by taking down our sign.

It’s been a fantastic 10 year journey, during which we have met amazing people and have become friends with so many along the way.

Although it may be a sad time for those who have enjoyed many Afternoon Teas on our verandah or an overnight stay, it is joyous time for Roger and I. We are able to completely enjoy our home and property with all of our loved ones, family and friends, and will continue to do so for many years to come.

A sincere thank you to everyone who have supported us throughout our 10 year journey, and we are so excited to embark on the next chapter together.

Cheers!

Happy 2025 to every one of our followers, and all those seeing us for the first time.

As sad as it is, we really have permanently closed our Tea Room, along with any other event/venue space at the Inn (no showers, dinners or weddings). I know that our website is VERY outdated, but nonetheless, we do continue to offer only one room for two overnight B&B guests, including breakfast and will be opening again in May 2025.

Looking forward to a much slower year in 2025, and hopefully a few familiar faces will return for a visit.

Cheers!

We have had to close the Tea Room at the Inn unexpectedly earlier than originally planned as of August 13th, 2024.

We have made every attempt to contact those with reservations for tomorrow and give them the sad news; I want to personally thank everyone for their understanding and kind words during our conversations. There are a couple of people who we have left messages for, and will reach out again today.

At this point, we do not anticipate opening our Tea Room again in the future. We are still operating our Bed & Breakfast seasonally, from April to October, with a two-night minimum stay.

We both want to extend our heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who have supported us throughout the years… it’s been an exciting adventure, and it isn’t over for us yet!

Cheers!

Summer is well underway, even though we seem to be having a record number of rainy days this year, including today.

It's been 9 years since Roger & I have taken ownership of our beloved home, The Montrose Inn Boutique B&B, and were so excited to start our 10th season in May of this year. As the weeks passed, we had great expectations of an excellent season with Afternoon Tea and overnight guests galore. Sadly, the reservations for both were well under our anticipated numbers, and we have suffered many cancellations due to weather and surprisingly some "no-shows". This is not the year for tourism it seems, and we understand that there are so many contributing factors to this, not just the weather.

We had to very quickly make some decisions regarding our business and its future. We have made some changes, drastic as it may seem to those on the outside, some of which are immediate, and some of which will be implemented at the end of the summer.

Effective immediately, we are offering one room to overnight guests, the Bernice Suite; it has a queen-sized bed, private bathroom, a/c and access to the semi-private second storey verandah, accompanied by our delicious, freshly prepared hot breakfasts. Reservations can still be made by telephone, booking on-line through our website (which is currently being updated to reflect our new services) or Booking.com.

We will no longer be offering the service of Afternoon or Cream Tea as of August 25th, 2024; most of you will know that we have changed our schedule for offering our four course Afternoon Tea on only the last Sunday of each month. Both July 28th and August 25th are fully booked. I will be following up with phone calls to everyone who has a reservation after August, to unfortunately cancel, including cancelling reservations for all of our Christmas Teas.

Until August 25th, we will continue to offer our Cream Tea every Friday and Sunday, by reservation, so there is still opportunity to enjoy our verandah and scenic view of the Bay of Quinte until then. Please call to make your reservations.

We will still have our Antique & Vintage Shoppe open and will be creating an on-line store, and regular business hours including by appointment.

Lastly, Roger & I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone, near and far, family and friends, who have supported us since our first day on this wild adventure in 2015. And we now look forward to the next chapter in our lives and The Montrose Inn.

Cheers!

We are officially fully booked for Mother's Day Tea on May 12th; however, we still have tables on May 10th for Cream Tea...

AND we are excited to remind everyone who couldn't get a table for Mother's Day, that we will still be offering the last Sunday of the month Afternoon Tea on May 26th... there's still tables available, so you can always treat your Mom with a reservation! Fingers crossed that we can dine outside before June.

Call us at 613-966-1028 or send us a message via messenger to book your table!

As always, we thank all of you for your continued support!
