Well this has been quite the journey with many difficult roads, but the consistent support from our camping community has been the driving force behind our perseverance. Thank you for your continued encouragement.

We are working with another municipality and our partners in the Cape Breton area who are just as excited as we are to bring you this experience in a beautiful new destination.

And so it continues...

Our family is thankful to our supporters who share our vision in bringing this new adventure to the beautiful and renowned Cape Breton Island. Our dream is to work WITH the community to bring a new vibrancy to the area and to support the economy in a way that respects the land and the people.

Cape Breton Regional Municipality has filed a court appeal after the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board struck down council's decision to permit a recreational vehicle park near Big Pond.

01/25/2019

To our friends and supporters,

We are very disappointed with the decision against the re-zoning application. Many of you have shared in our hope and vision to create something unique and special in Big Pond. We are disappointed for the residents of Cape Breton and for those who had hoped to visit the island and make us part of their Cape Breton experience.

This process has been long and at times very disheartening. It is your support and comments that have kept us pushing past the disappointment.

At this point, we are waiting to hear on how CBRM will respond to this decision. We will be doing a thorough review of the report and will keep you updated on our next steps.

Hello Friends! We sincerely apologize for the lack of communication lately. For those who have been following our journey in the news, the Utility and Review Board is still in the process of finalizing the decision on our land use after the appeal process. We are also still waiting on the approval on our sewage treatment plans.

The local pushback has been difficult to manage and has cost us valuable time as well as finances. But it's our supporters that keep us pushing through. For every negative comment and trial we encounter in this process, there are many more words and acts of encouragement. We want to thank you again for hanging in there with us and we can't wait to celebrate with you around the campfire!

For those looking for a seasonal site, we keep track of all of your messages and inquiries and will be in touch as soon as we have some of these logistics finalized.
