Winter is approaching, and with it comes all kinds of fun! ❄️ ⛄️ ☀️

This winter season, experience night skiing at Pass Powderkeg Ski Area, gliding through snowy trails on cross-country skis at the Syncline trail network with the Syncline Castle Trail Association, or whisking through the powder on a snowmobile with the CrowSnow Riders. Try wild ice skating on Crowsnest Lake or discover the legendary chutes at Castle Mountain Resort. You could even explore one of the many local holiday markets, like those at Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village, or snuggle up by a fire with a cozy hot chocolate after snowshoeing under the stars with Uplift Adventures. We were blessed with a pretty amazing aurora light show last night.

So many things to be thankful for this weekend, as we approach Thanksgiving. But most of all, we are grateful for all the gifts Mother Nature has been blessing us with. 🥰

UROC Trail Report August 30th:

A huge thank you to our summer trail crew! Most of the crew had their last day this week and we’d like to recognize all the work they’ve done this year. The new daylodge-direct climbing trail (Highway Tree), rebuilt/revived wood features and jumps throughout the valley, brushing, w**d pulling, raking, limbing, drainage improvement and ready for this weekend, an ASG easier climb option from the daylodge along with a Spare Change reroute that adds more trees, roots and a really sweet new rock slab line. It’s been an awesome summer and everyone in the Crowsnest mountain biking community really appreciates the hard work and dedication.

On the trail conditions front, it’s about as good as it gets out there. A big Wednesday rain has tacked things up and it will be prime riding the next few days. Good news for everyone in town this Labour Day Long Weekend. Great news for everyone who’s coming out tomorrow night for the final Friday Night Race of the summer!

The last race of the season will take place on Nothing to Luge. It will be fast and furious as everyone will be competing to win the coveted (?) Golden Luge. A feat that will have the quickest Lady and Man of the night immortalized on the trophy, which will be displayed prominently in the PPK daylodge. I believe they call this, “braggin’ rights.” Registration is at 600 PM Friday evening and you can race until 700 PM, with awards, prizes and socializing to take place immediately after. $10+GST get’s you an entry and a drink of your choice.

Our Bee’s Knees Enduro race will take place the following weekend and it officially sold out earlier this week. We’d like to thank everyone for the support and we’re looking forward to putting on a great community event. We will have lots of info getting posted on our website and social media in the upcoming days, so stay tuned.

As usual, Pass Powderkeg lodge is open Friday/Saturday/Sunday and Alpenland is open for service and sales.

Happy Labour Day! It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
