Okay, this is too good not to share. 🗞️

We were doing some work on the building and pulled a newspaper out of the wall — a Toronto Daily Star from February 6, 1950. The Inn was already 74 years old when someone tucked it in there.

The front page is wild. “Russia has the H-bomb” at the top… and right next to it, “1,300 cases of celery dumped, no market.” 😄 Three cents a copy ( I thought it was a myth). And — Little Lulu really hasn’t aged a day, has she?

We’re turning 150 this year, and honestly stuff like this is the best part — little reminders of everyone who’s passed through these walls before us. Come be part of the next chapter

When this couple booked a special-occasion escape, their pup wasn't about to be left behind — so we made sure the guest of honour felt right at home. 🐶

Sometimes fall just hits a little different. 🍂

The air turns crisp, the colours start to turn gold, and the whole property slows right down. This is the season for a thick sweater, a warm room, and a long look at the river doing its thing — our quiet four-legged neighbours included.

Fall Fair weekend is here.

The Bracebridge Fall Fair & Horse Show runs Friday through Sunday at J.D. Lang Park — 158 years of midway rides, livestock shows, pancake breakfasts and the Saturday parade. It's one of the best weekends of the year in this town, and the fairgrounds are under ten minutes from our front door.

A few we'd circle: Saturday's parade at 12:30, the pancake breakfast 7–10am both mornings, and the Canine Circus and Muskoka Birds of Prey running all day Sunday.

Come for the fair. Stay in a 150-year-old landmark on the river, and let someone else make you breakfast.

Gates Friday 5pm, Saturday and Sunday from 7am. Kids 13 and under free with an adult.
