🚨 Renfrew County Fire Danger – EXTREME 🚨

All of Renfrew County is currently under an Extreme Forest Fire Danger Rating, as managed by the Ministry of Natural Resources. Conditions are very dry, and the risk of fire spreading is high.

🔥 Several local municipalities have already implemented fire bans or restrictions. It’s essential to check with your local municipality before lighting any fires.

Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

This is SO unnecessary and highly avoidable! There was no preparation for spring precipitation and snow melt. They only opened chutes at Cheeaux April 7th.
HOW can we hold them accountable??

We have received news of a break and enter after dark in a nearby seasonal cottage on Wrangell Road -

Please be aware that the perpetrator was apprehended by the police after a diligent neighbour caught footage on a security camera.

The man was on a bicycle coming off the Algonquin trail.

He broke in a north facing door of the cottage, rummaged through the cottage contents and had settled down for an overnight in a sleeping bag in one of the bedrooms.

Police revealed he is from Ottawa, but has begun frequenting the Pembroke area.

Sexual Assault, in possession of a handgun Black male, 5’9” to 6’ (175-183 cm) tall, with hair on the top of his head and the sides are shaved. He has a goatee and a five-star tattoo above his left eyebrow and another tattoo under his left eye. He was last seen wearing a purple plaid jacket, and possibly black shorts and a blue shirt.
