"The celebration of World Ocean Day dates back to the 1992 United Nations Earth Summit, where a team from Canada's International Centre for Ocean Development (ICOD) proposed an annual Oceans Day to create a voice for the oceans, to empower those who live and work in coastal communities, and to strengthen the management and stewardship of the ocean."

Join us every Friday evening from 6:30 - 8:00 pm for a relaxed paddle around Brentwood Bay. Whether you’re in a kayak, canoe, or on a paddle board, this is a great way to unwind after the week, spend time on the water, and connect with other local paddlers.

This is not a lesson or guided tour, but a casual community paddle for people who are comfortable on the water and looking for a fun, low-key way to get out more often.

Reminder: our Gorge Waterway cleanup is happening this Saturday, May 30th! 🌊

Join a community of paddlers as we clean the Gorge between Tillicum Narrows and Portage Inlet. From old tires to plastic and other marine debris, every piece removed helps protect the local waterways that connect us all to the ocean.

Bring your own kayak, SUP, or canoe and join for free, or take part from the shoreline.

At Pacifica we're well known for kayaking, but we also love paddle boarding. A highlight from the summer was the advanced SUP workshop series led by Dave from Pacifica Swartz Bay*. It was so fun to take the flatwater paddling skills and apply them to currents, and dynamic conditions. If you think paddle boarding is just about lazily floating on a lake, think again! There is so much to learn and challenge yourself with in this sport, and we look forward to helping you expand your skill set next summer.

Look down, and discover all the cool marine life!
The biodiversity of the Salish Sea is incredible, when you slow down and take in all the details.

Throwback to a couple tours from our gateway to the Gulf Islands, aka Pacifica Swartz Bay*. People often set their sights on finding marine mammals, but as a guide, I love it when they discover the beauty of iridescent seaweed, orange sea cucumbers, moon snails and kelp forests.

If you haven't explored the Southern Gulf Islands from our our Swartz Bay location, add it to your bucket list for next summer.
