The rental fee includes all the wood that you can burn in the fireplace, (which will be roaring when you arrive to a cozy warm building and all the electric thermostats will be set to a comfortable temperature) use of our private whirlpool spa and the sauna, gas for the barbecue, Smart TV with Firestick (already loaded with movies and TV programming), Starlink wi-fi, and use of the toboggan hill and skating rink (weather permitting). We can drill holes for your ice fishing and we have a pop-up fishing hut that we can set up for you as an optional extra. We will also offer snowmobile rides for the kids.

Unlike some cottages that were winterized as an afterthought, Happynest was built for year-round use and as such it is well insulated including the floors. The heating system is more than adequate to make your visit toasty warm and comfortable. You will not have to wonder if the pipes are going to freeze up or that you will not be warm enough, because everything is well maintained and we are only minutes away if you need anything. There is a back-up generator too.
There is a full size clothes dryer, just in case the winter clothes get damp while you are playing in the snow.
So that you can spend more of your time having fun, we provide a dishwasher, microwave oven, new stove with self-cleaning oven, three large refrigerators with freezers, gas barbecue, and the small appliances.
When you arrive, Happynest will already be pleasantly warm and we will have the fireplace already roaring and all the individual wall-mounted electric thermostats will be set to a comfortable temperature - "warm face, warm hands, warm feet - just loverly" :-)
We supply dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, and gas for the barbecue, all the wood that you can burn in the fireplace, There are lots of large pots to make it easier to prepare food for large groups. Of course the barbecue helps here too. We can supply a large roasting pan for your turkey too!
Although Happynest is a private 1.3 acre waterfront property with one stand-alone private cottage on a clean, uncrowded, unspoiled awesome lake, we live just across the cove so we are on call 24/7 in case there is anything that you need during your stay - a rather unique arrangement for a private cottage rental property - complete privacy but immediate help close at hand.
I am the plumber, electrician, carpenter, handyman/inventor, operator of snow clearing equipment, mechanic and local information guide and garbage collector - garbage is removed daily. We have back-up electrical power as well and a spare of every part and kitchen appliance large or small including a new water heater still in the box so there are never any interruptions or inconveniences to the enjoyment of your vacation and everything is well maintained and up to date as reflected on our customer comments pages. YOU WILL NEVER BE LEFT TO YOUR OWN DEVICES, FREEZING IN THE COLD WITH NOBODY TO CALL AS COULD HAPPEN WITH AN ABSENTEE LANDLORD COTTAGE
As we have a cottage that our family uses on the same cove, we are not far away if there is anything that you need during your stay. You will find that the cottage is spotless on your arrival because our whole family will have been there ahead of you to do the cleaning (which is not always the case if you rent from an absentee landlord).
There is only one turn after Toronto which will bring you to the end of our road, which is plowed by the same equipment that does the highways and we are very well looked after in this regard. We clear our own driveways with a tractor- mounted 7 foot wide snow blower. There is a lighted sign at the end of the Happynest Driveway so Happynest is very easy to find even after dark.
Our motto is "A Private Cottage with Resort Features". Family reunions are our specialty.
