Bow River Lodge is part of the Worldwide fraternal organization known as "Freemasonry". The origins of Freemasonry are not known, however there is historical evidence of Masonic Lodges operating in England and Scotland in the first half of the 1600s. Freemasonry is a philosophical society - men who are Freemasons are interested in exploring the deeper meaning of life and finding our who they are a

nd where they are going. Freemasonry is about taking good men and making them better through a commitment to learning, responsibility, charity, kindness and tolerance towards others, and making the world a better place.

Happy 25th Anniversary to the Simpsons "Stonecutters" episode - perhaps the greatest unintentional pop-culture recruitment for Freemasonry in modern history. A producer heard an anti-Masonic radio show late one night and came up with the idea for the Simpsons episode which while being a satirical look at the public perception of what we do, is likely even better at skewering those attacking Freemasonry.

And with respect to the suggestion that our Masonic rings get us free stuff from vending machines and that we know the *real* number for 911 all we can say is.....

Shudddduuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup! 😉

“Too late, the Simpsons already did it!”

On the 25th anniversary of the season 6 episode 12, “Homer the Great,” we pay homage to one of the best, and certainly the funniest, send-ups of ever to hit the airwaves.

Education: A review of "Stellar Theology and Masonic Astronomy"....

The ancient philosophers, scientists and mystics expended a great deal of time and effort attempt to divine the movements of the stars and planets in the heavens, and attributed great significance and meaning to their passages.

Written in 1882, this book by Robert Brown presents a review of astronomical knowledge in ancient civilizations, explains the zodiacal framework of ancient astronomy and then relates how that framework is embedded in masonic ritual and ceremony. Bro. Lee Martin will briefly summarize the contents of the book and present some of the points which he found insightful and interesting.
