Give a big "howdy!" to Eric Hutton, our Engineering Manager with the Mirmil team.

Eric's been with the team for a long time - off and on since he was 18! He's always worked in industrial woodworking, and recently stepped back in with the Mirmil family after running his own successful business.

Eric says his favourite part of the job is not just one thing - but rather, the people. He says that in this atmosphere, everyone all genuinely gets along with each other, regardless of what the team members do!

Eric says in his spare time, he's a bit of a full family handyman - helping everyone with projects as they pop up! He says it used to be his favourite hobby, but now it's up for debate. 😉

Fun fact about Eric- he completely rebuilt a 1949 International Harvester truck - 22 years in the making!

Everyone give a big "hello!" to Alexis Henderson, one of our Drafting Specialists with the Mirmil team.

Alexis has been with the family for 6 months, helping to support our Engineering department. She says that her favourite part of the job is searching to find all the necessary information to create a shop drawing that everyone understands and fits the needs of the customer. Alexis says her most challenging drawing has been a full bar with built in slot machines!

In her spare time, Alexis enjoys reading and watching sports - her favourite hockey team are the Florida Panthers. And as a fun fact, Alexis lived in Australia for 3 months, and she would do it again!

Alexis, thank you for being an awesome member of the team! We're lucky to have you! 👏

What do you get when you combine 8 dozen of fresh corn, burgers, bratwursts and delicious desserts?

You get a happy team with full tummies! Today was our annual corn roast, and as always, it did not disappoint.😋

A huge thank you for our team of volunteers who helped organize and execute this fun employee lunch - we'll all definitely need a nap after work! 😉

Everybody give it up for Mike Pamplin, our Driver with the Mirmil team!

Mike's been with the family for over a year, and in addition to being our Driver, he also supports our Shipping department, helping ensure our product is packed and loaded safely.

Mike says that his favourite part of the job are the people that he works with. He says that working with people who get along, and have respect and kindness for each other makes it easy to wake up each morning and head to work! 💕

In his spare time, Mike enjoys fishing, spending time with his family, and watching football (go Chiefs!). And as a fun fact - one of his favourite bands are the Dixie Chicks (aka the Chicks)!

The Mirmil team wants to give a huge shoutout to Northumberland Manufacturers' Association for their visit to our office this week.

Deb & Sheri got to test drive some awesome new technology the NMA is working with - virtual reality!

It was an awesome chance for us to understand just how VR can be used in a variety of ways across manufacturing businesses, from recruiting, to training, onboarding, safety, and so much more. (Plus, the ladies had a great time testing it out - and looked fancy to boot 😉).

Give a big "hello!" to Julia W. one of our Production Operators with the Mirmil team.

Julia's been with the family for almost a year, and is our resident Veneer Operator, although she also supports Assembly, Inventory and Sanding.

Julia says that her favourite part of the job is working in Veneer - since it's the start point of each project, she gets to see how each project comes together from beginning to end, in each of its stages.

In her spare time Julia enjoys paddle boarding, reading and playing the piano. And as a fun fact, Julia knows her classic rock - and loves going to concerts featuring classic bands!

Rock on, Julia! Thank you for being such an amazing member of the team! 👏
