Big Bert wasn't chasing dinosaurs he was hunting underwater.

With his long, narrow snout and rows of sharp teeth, Big Bert was perfectly built to catch fish and squid in the ancient sea that once covered Saskatchewan.

It's incredible to think that a place where we now camp, golf, and swim was once home to powerful marine predators like this.

What’s the closest you’ve come to acing hole #3? Have you made it onto the green, or are you like some of us who are almost guaranteed to end up in the trees every time? 😂⛳️

The world feels a little quieter out here. Sometimes that’s exactly what we need. 🌿

Want to walk where Big Bert was discovered?

The Andy Jamault Trail begins here at Pasquia and leads to the very shale deposit where Big Bert's fossil was uncovered.

Keep your eyes open along the way because you might spot fossils still embedded in the rock. If you do, please leave them where they are so everyone can enjoy this unique piece of Saskatchewan's history.

It's one of the coolest hikes you'll find anywhere in the province.

It's hard to picture Saskatchewan underwater, but that's exactly what it looked like over 90 million years ago.

A massive inland sea once stretched from the Gulf of Mexico all the way to the Arctic Ocean. The area around Pasquia Regional Park sat along its shoreline, creating the perfect environment for ancient marine life like Big Bert.

Today, those ancient seas have disappeared, but the fossils they left behind continue to tell the story.

Hole #6 is one of those spots where it's worth taking a second to soak in the scenery before your next shot.

We’ve heard mixed opinions about this hole. Some people love it, while others say it isn’t their favourite. What do you think of hole #6? ⛳️
