Big congrats to Rick who landed his first Eagle River grilse this morning! He and son Brad have been here for 3 days, with guide, Sonny. It has been 3 days of merciless heat, but we have been going out early mornings to beat the heat. All guests have found a few fish and this morning there were better signs with 8 hookups before breakfast, and cooler temps. A 10lber amongst them for guest, Chris.

We still have plenty of water, though dropping fast and the cool nights have been saving the water temps dropping from 70F/21C to 65F/18C overnight.

Another father & son team from last week when long time guest, Ray, brought along his son, Chris.

These guys had a great time. We received a note from this group today. And we want to share it because it captures the essence of how hard our team works to make every guest experience the best it can be. The weather had plans to mess up everyone’s travels on Monday, which can mean 10 people with upset schedules and 10 more very disappointed to not be fishing. We made other plans to keep people moving which is not an easy task in Labrador. Thank you to John, who sent along the kind words on behalf of the group. We look forward to seeing you next year.

It’s great to have Bruce back, and this year his son, Peter, joins him. They arrived just yesterday evening and wasted no time solidifying some great father & son memories with our guide, Hedley, and some feisty Eagle River atlantic salmon! Peter landed the beautiful 30” salmon (bottom left) just this evening. Congrats guys! Hope your success continues!

New group in today, and lots of success right off the hop. One thing we love more than anything is helping a new angler get that first ever fish. Well, huge congrats to Braydon, who tagged his first ever grilse and hooked another! With his grandfather by his side and guided by Theodore, it was a great moment.

The river is cold and has risen 25cm over the last 2 days. It’s in great shape!
