Wildwood Labourer Job Description:
The following is not meant to be a comprehensive list of job duties and responsibilities that would fall within the normal duties of a seasonal Labourer position at Wildwood by the Lake. This document is used as guide to give the Labourer an understanding of the general scope of the position. All duties will be carried out in a safe efficient manner as directed by the park manager (and or Board President). The position requires interaction with the public and park members and as such it is important that you keep a positive attitude and treat matters of confidentiality with the upmost respect.
• Operate all park equipment and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
• Maintain daily records as required as set out by the park manager
• May be required to work independently or as a team
• Able to lift heavy objects (30-50lbs) and withstand long periods of standing and frequent bending on a daily basis
• General grass cutting and trimming using power tools and a wide range of lawn mowers
• Painting buildings and other park equipment
• General maintenance on buildings that may require some carpentry
• Road maintenance which may require the use of tractors and other equipment
• General repairs to sewage systems, such as clearing backups and flushing systems
• General repairs to water systems
• Preparation and cleanup before and park activities
• May be required to do light cement work
• Maintain plants and gardens
• Use and maintain tools and equipment is a safe manner. (I.e. clean and grease mowers)
• Dig trenches and replace pipes or drains
• Dispose of garbage as required
• Direct trailers to lots as required
• May be required that the Rec. Hall and Washrooms be opened at 7:00am and be closed by 11:00pm except when there is a function
• Participate in emergency response as required
• Perform other related duties as required (electrical and plumbing repairs and etc.)
• Be willing to be on call nights and weekends on a rotating schedule with other employees
• Current Police reference check required
• All park keys to be handed into the park office once the park is closed.
• Full time hours 40 per week and part - time hours minimum 24 per week. Starting at 8:00am
