We are fortunate to be ambassadors in this unique community of Churchill, Manitoba...at a point in time when the world is focused on dramatic changes financially and environmentally,in particular the plight of the Polar Bear who we co-exist alongside with in our community.For those of you who have not already visited us you are invited to Capture the Spirit of the North year round at our comfortab

le B&B and/or join us for a dogsled tour independantly or alongside the many tour companies who use us as their primary source for accomodation and dogsled tours. We are very proud of the fact that we are aboriginally owned businesses and were the first dogsled kennel to publicly post our "no-cull" policy and sled dog adoption routines in our community. Our sled dogs give us the daily courage to move forward, troubleshooting the never ending challenges and embracing the abundance of opportunities that life offers. Each of our dogs has a unique personality and we work hard to find the right place for them on our team, but without a doubt Isobel The Blind Sled dog will remain forever etched in our minds. We are grateful we had the opportunity to witness her determination, courage and inspiration whether it be running in harness, romping along the shores of the Hudson Bay, or begging for dog bones! May Isobel's story, as well as ever other Northern Sled Dog's story...be a reminder to us all to never give up on the weakest member of your team, be it in our workplace, family, humanity, or simply a dogteam.

What’s Cooking!

Being able to grow your own food is so important. Despite a very cool and wet Spring and Summer in Churchill Manitoba our potatoes are doing well. We’ll never go hungry! Looking forward to preparing breakfasts with these for our Fall guests!

Vigilant until the end. Even dogs who serve in Canadas Arctic have to struggle to find a vet. As they say it is what is is….when you’re dedicated. Enjoying every sunset while we still can.

It’s hard to let go… and then there were 13…

Gerald flew Tory to Winnipeg as it was time 😞 despite delayed planes, and vet offices closing Gerald was able to say his final goodbyes thanks to Grant Park Animal hospital making exceptions once again! Were it not for technology today we could not have made it all happen as it did.

Tory begged to be hooked up in lead in his final years with guests despite the fact he wasn’t up to it given his age. He took to learning off leash routines very quickly allowing him to enjoy meet and great portions of our programs which were his favourite part, feeling that human touch from Gerald or guests. He truly loved all humans and was a gentleman within his pack. Our gentle giant was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when he was seven and required medication and annual bloodwork until his final days.

RIP Tory, you did such a GOOD JOB and it helps us knowing your with the rest of your pack….until we meet again

Can’t thank our extended family enough for making Gerald’s 65 so memorable. An incredible Canadian who celebrated a milestone outside of his home Province for safety and security reasons. Can hardly wait to see what the trail holds for one of Canadas greatest.
Happy 65th Gerald. You are one of the country’s greatest alongside your sled dogs. Can hardly wait to see what the future holds. It’s a miracle you made it this far ❤️🇨🇦❤️🐾❤️🇨🇦🐾❤️🇨🇦

We appreciate those incredible people who have respected our privacy. To those who haven’t we’ll simply put just shame on you❤️

A phone number will be released shortly if you would like to book a room or you you would like to join us for a tour. So grateful for an extended family we can rely on and trust, who keep us going despite some unbelievable events.

To those who like to stalk us in public places in Churchill Manitoba please know you are being recorded and documented ..despite the fact the town of Churchill Manitoba is a public space! And the Justice system in Canada has yet to catch up you😉

Yes… the polar bears are off the ice folks and the bugs are here as are the belugas!
