After a snowy, long, and busy winter, Bryan has finally found the time to take the sleds out!

Almost May in Northern Ontario can only mean one thing… one last ride to camp before putting the machines away for the season. Around here, it’s never easy to say goodbye to winter just yet.

Big shoutout to the Sledaddicz crew—Mike and Jesse—for being more than just great guests, but true ambassadors of the sport. Spending weeks with us each winter (and even the holidays) doesn’t go unnoticed, and neither does the time and effort you both put into supporting our local club.

Your passion for snowmobiling, your willingness to lend a hand, and your dedication to promoting Northern Ontario riding is something we genuinely appreciate. It’s people like you who help keep the trails strong and the community even stronger.

Cheers to another great season, boys. We’ll be counting down the days until the snow flies again… but not before we see you this summer, Mike, for a Finaddicz tour!

All good things must come to an end… ❄️➡️☀️

After an unprecedented winter here in Cochrane, with record-breaking snowfall and legendary riding conditions, Mother Nature has finally decided it’s time. Warmer temps and rain have rolled in, and while our southern friends were ahead of us by a few weeks, it’s officially time to hang up the helmets and throw in the sledding towel.

The snowbanks are slowly shrinking, but the bush is still holding onto a few feet of that classic northern, wet and sticky stuff!

We want to send out a huge THANK YOU to all of our guests who made this winter one for the books. From familiar faces to first-time visitors—especially our many friends from the U.S.—you made the Westway feel like the winter home away from home it’s always meant to be.

This season had it all…
— Snowmaggedons that had staff and guests digging out together
— Amazing local events like the Polar Bear Cup Oval Races and our annual Guest Appreciation BBQ
— And yes… even a sled that tried to park itself through a room wall 💥

A heartfelt shoutout goes to the incredible volunteers of the Polar Bear Riders Snowmobile Club—your tireless work is what makes Cochrane one of the best sledding destinations out there. We truly appreciate everything you do.

And a big thank you to our partners at Sledaddicz for their passion, promotion, volunteerism and continued support of northern Ontario riding.

Someone forgot to tell Mother Nature it’s April… because out there, it’s looking a whole lot more like February than Easter weekend!

The snow just keeps coming, the cold isn’t letting go, and trail conditions are holding strong. If you’ve been waiting for one last blast of winter… this is it.

We’re running a full house here at the Westway with riders from near and far, all chasing those legendary trails by the Polar Bear Riders Snowmobile Club—and we wouldn’t want it any other way. The stories, the laughs, the late-season rides… this is what it’s all about.

This winter has truly been one for the books, and we can’t thank our guests enough for being part of it.

So if you’ve still got fuel in the tank and throttle left to give…
don’t park it yet. Spring riding is ON.

We fired up the grill and welcomed sledders and highway travellers alike for our annual Winter Customer Appreciation BBQ—and what a night it was!

Plenty of laughs, trail stories, and great conversations filled the air as guests connected with members of the Polar Bear Riders Snowmobile Club. A big thank you to Club President Kenny for sharing insights and answering questions, and to groomer operators Elwood and Dan for stopping by to chat with guests.

And of course… we couldn’t have done it without Mike from Sledaddicz, who absolutely delivered on the grill—serving up over 100 Sisco sausages!

We truly recognize the hard work and dedication that goes into every sledding season—from our local club to all the volunteers who keep the trails in top shape. You are what makes this region so special.

To our incredible guests—thank you for celebrating 62 years of Westway hospitality with us. Nights like this remind us why we love what we do. There’s nothing better than great food, a warm fire, good music, and even better company in the heart of winter.

Usually, this BBQ marks the wrap-up of the season… but with another 15cm of snow on the way, winter isn’t quite ready to let go just yet! ❄️

So get out there, enjoy some spring riding, and make the most of these trails while they last.
