Interesting facts about The Colborne:

The guesthouse is surrounded by a private park managed by a conservation foundation. The guest house is currently administrated by a Tour Operator company.
The conservation has acres of native plants and trees with more than 350 species. It also has a creek that crosses the property all the way to lake Ontario. The creek is part of the hydrographic system that feeds Lake Ontario with Fresh water. In the creek one can find trouts throughout the year. In the park, wild life is diverse, rabbits, foxes, coyotes, groundhogs, squirrels, chipmunks, snakes, frogs, and birds such as hawks, blue Jays, red Cardinals, herons
robins, woodpeckers, and many migration birds that seasonally show up, Seagals, wild turkey, Finches among many others.
The conservation of the park is operated by arborists to ensure a balance within the various tree species and prevent fires while keeping the trails unobstructed.
This whole management process is costly therefore all proceeds of the guest house operation is applied towards its maintenance.
For this reason the owner decided to reopen the house to the public after it had been closed for a number of years.
The Colborne also offers its location for small events like weddings, family gatherings or just relaxation in the nature.
