"Tales from the Creek: Summer Shenanigans" is hot off the press!

This Saturday, June 15th, is a book signing event! Come and visit our tent at the Colchester Country Market, 195 Bagot St., (old schoolhouse), Colchester. Our illustrator, Gaye McGee, will also be there with her own books, too! Book signing is from 1-3:00.

Over 25 vendors! Weather forecast is perfect! Take in the market, Heritage Walking Tour at 12:15 and fundraising lunch at Christ Church (barbecue hotdogs, hams... from 11-1:00). Throw in a visit to the nearby park, beach and/or wineries and the day promises all the ingredients for greatness! Market runs 10-3:00.

Come stop by and say, "Hi"! I look forward to seeing you!

Book costs are $16 with a portion going to Parkinson's Society (local) and/or Alzheimer's Society.

For my birthday, I'm officially releasing our new book, "Tales from the Creek: Summer Shenanigans"!
This is the second book of Dennis' memories of growing up along the shores of River Canard. If you enjoyed, "Tales from the Creek: Winter Skates", then you are certain to like this new, Summer collection of stories! They highlight fishing, baseball and raccoons- stories of friendship, family and community.

The whimsical Illustrations are by local artist, Gaye McGee of Amherstburg. Graphic design is by Heidi Affleck, 2Chicks Creative, Amherstburg. Printing is done by Ellis Graphics, Windsor- all friends and very creative people! Stories are Dennis' with contributions from friends and family members, using my interpretive liberties which I hope hold to the values and customs of the time. Any inconsistencies are mine.

Showing our Valentine Love! The first $50 cheque from proceeds of the sale of "Tales from the Creek: Winter Skates" was presented (with a copy of the book for their lending library)to this the location of the Leamington branch of The Parkinson's Society of Southwestern Ontario (PSSO). In 2013, scared with Dennis' new diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease, we met many others that were already facing their challenges head on with grace and dignity. We attended the PSSO support group and were blessed with information and support to begin our journey. The group still meets here in Leamington! I attended the meeting this week to make the presentation. It was great to meet with new friends that warmly embrace and encourage others! Thank you for all you do- facilitators of the Leamington PSSO and to you that have purchased a book that allows us to give financial support to those living with PD and memory care!
