During the Frank Slide in 1903, Dr. George Malcolmson was the doctor in town and helped many people recover after the rockslide.

They were lucky to have him with one of the first rural hospitals to be opened in the province. Eventually, Dr. Malcolmson purchased the first x-ray machine in Alberta!

We almost didn’t get the railway.

There was a whole plan to skip Alberta and run it through the U.S. instead. Mining money almost sent it south. Then the Crow Rate happened and the Pass got the tracks — and everything changed.
