February sunrise over Denman and Hornby Islands. This morning the fog blanketed the islands, so calm along Baynes Sound and on the bay.

Autumn has arrived at the Boathouse. The fog has been rolling around the bay, Denman and Hornby Islands. Sparkling waters on the bay and the salmon are jumping before they spawn in Brooklyn Creek. It's 22 degrees celsius and the leaves are falling. Wishing all our lovely friends and family a very Happy Thanksgiving on Monday, sending our best from the Boathouse.

Our lovely guest from the UK left us yesterday, a bittersweet goodbye, as we know she is on to great adventures ahead, but we will miss her. I cleaned out the birdhouse on the Boathouse yesterday as well, Mama House Wren built a gorgeous nest and had 3 darling babies this year. They kept the Gravenstein Apple tree free of bugs. I marvel at the superb engineering and beauty of their strong, comfy nests. These birds prefer a clean nest box every year so I have the honour of removing the old nest. I know Mama or one of her babies will be back next spring. Gives me hope. With love from Bramble Cottage and the Boathouse, wishing everyone a wondrous Fall.

What a wonderful summer and early fall of perfect weather we've had this year. Thank you to all our new friends who have visited and stayed in the Boathouse.

The Boathouse is open year round for rentals. The cottage is heated and there is a down quilt on the Queen bed and extra blankets if you wish.
