What an amazingly talented, kind, generous and passionate team we had at Farewell Harbour Lodge this year. Each and every one of them contributed a special ingredient to the secret sauce which helped make this season so magical. We wish them all well as they embark on winter adventures to all corners of the planet. Kel and I will be heading to our winter den in Comox shortly with full hearts. This was our last season and we cherish the friendships we have made with our staff, our guests, our neighbours and all the many community and business partners who have meant so much to us these last 10 years. A special note of gratitude to our partners and dear friends, the Brockway family, for their steadfast support over the years, and to the Gee family for their commitment to steward this beautiful place for the next generation. Farewell! 🩵

Can you see the fish in their mouth?! 🐟

As September continues the humpbacks are in a full feeding frenzy! They are getting ready for their long migration to the warmer waters of their breeding grounds. This behaviour is called lunge feeding.

🐻 The rivers are alive! With the salmon run in full swing, bears are gathering in the streams, fishing and feasting as nature puts on one of its most iconic shows. This is the wild coast at its best 🌿🐟

Can you tell us a better way to spend an evening? 🩵

Golden hour, calm water and just the sound of the paddle. There’s nothing like ending the day on a paddle board exploring Farewell Harbour.
