A Hidden Gem Filled with History and Charm

"Our stay at Chesley’s Inn in Cornwall was an unforgettable experience. This magnificent house from 1814 is absolutely stunning — exceptionally well decorated, filled with beautiful artwork, exquisite furniture, and so much character in every corner. It feels less like a regular stay and more like stepping into a place rich with history, culture, and charm.

One of the highlights was definitely our host, Robert. He is the kind of person you instantly want to sit down and chat with. Having travelled extensively, he always has fascinating stories to tell, making every conversation interesting and memorable.

If you love arts, history, and culture, this is truly the perfect place to stay.

And the breakfast… simply amazing. We still remember the delicious French toast with fresh strawberries — easily one of the best breakfasts of our entire trip.

Thank you, Robert, for such a wonderful and memorable stay. We hope to return someday."

This is one of those only in Canada stories. At the local box store parking lot, a Canada goose decided a small patch of grass was the perfect place to lay her eggs. So a fence was erected to protect her, complete with rain and sun protection-also bowls for food and water!

Although it sure doesn’t feel like it temperature wise, another spring ritual at Auberge Chesley’s Inn is taking down the storm windows and putting them in storage. It’s a delight to flood the Inn with fresh air

Join us September 12–13, 2026 at Lamoureux Park for the Competition Powwow featuring drum, dance, and smoke dance competitions, along with traditional craft vendors, delicious food vendors, and engaging cultural demonstrations throughout the weekend.

Went for lunch today at Cornwall’s newest restaurant “Hello Istanbul”. Met owner Hamza Hamish and had a fine lunch of lamb chops. An extensive menu to try so I’ll be back to sample more Turkish delights.
