Why do so many people stay at the Hideout in Cottlesville?
Answer: Beothuk Provincial historic site at Boyd’s Cove just 15 min away. This is an amazing provincial treasure. It is a must see!! The interpretation centre beautifully explains the life and connection to the land of these “Red Indians”
The indigenous people were paddlers and also visited Intricate Harbour near The Hideout in Cottlesville.
Spirit Cove, 2 km paddle,at the mouth of Intricate Harbour, is a documented Beothuk burial site. Spirit Cove is a place of ancient mystery with legends, unusual sounds, ancient voices,sunken circles, burial mounds and one excavated tomb. One of many fascinating sites in the summer hunting passage of the giant Beothuk people

Alert!! Confusion about The Hideout B&B in Newfoundland.
Last year a New York bar -formally known has the roaring 20s- has also take the name The Hideout.

Their complaints about the bar and grill is not ours. Some have even tagged our photo in error. We do not have a bar!

Nothing I can do about a name in another country just make our valued clients aware of this. In the era of the internet- This is a case of mistaken identity. (See photos below)

Question: Who do so many people stay at the Hideout for their staycation?
Answer: The kayaking! Sea kayaks are always available right at the site! Some of the best, most sheltered coves dotted with icebergs and island are all within a half days paddle! The Hideout was literally built around kayaking!!
Try to paddle the “3 tickle challange! Three resettled communities of Samsons islands, Black island and Exploits island!

What a wonderful summer at the Hideout! We would like to thank our hundreds of guests who chose to relax and spend their special holidays, retreats, wedding and family reunions with us.
