The Willow Tree Bed & Breakfast Permanently Closed!

05/14/2021

Hey everyone!! I wanted to pop in and say a big hello and I hope that everyone is doing well during this crazy time!
Life has certainly changed for us, which I'm sure it has as well for you as we all continue to adjust to a "new normal"

I have basically retired now, Brent continues to drive semi and we not only closed the B&B but we sold our home too.

We moved into a much smaller home....downsizing isn't as easy as it sounds, but we are thoroughly enjoying our little house and simplifying our lives.

I have continued writing and am still considering putting a cookbook together but for now I will be sharing some recipes every Friday on a page I started.
I share other things as well but thought I might add some breakfast recipes, as well as some other recipes. And while it may not always be "healthy", it will be yummy!
So if you'd like to join me you can find me over on Instagram or here on FB as "Stirring Up Memories”
I hope you will pop in, stay awhile and take a few moments in your day to relax with me.
Hope to see you there!! https://www.facebook.com/share/14oSNgAVLXC/?mibextid=LQQJ4d

I’m finally working on a cookbook!

“Some memories never leave your bones,like salt in the sea;
they become part of you and you carry them with you always”

It is with very mixed emotions that we announce the permanent closing of The Willow Tree Bed and Breakfast.

It all began with Covid-19, then a health crisis in our family and now the selling our home that we find ourselves at this place in our lives.

We would like to thank each and every one of you, our guests and friends, over the last few years for making our B&B your home away from home.
Each one of you holds a special place in our hearts and we will cherish the memories we have of all of you.

Warmest Regards,
Connie and Brent

SPECIAL NOTICE TO GUESTS:

Dear guests: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to remain closed for the foreseeable future, we've struggled with this decision for a while.

The B&B is also our home and after much consideration we feel it is just too risky to host travelers in our home this year.

We have no re-opening date established and no bookings are being taken at this time.

We hope for a positive turn-around in the situation in the future. We very much apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause.

Please feel free to contact us to discuss any questions you might have. Thank you!

Brent and I bought this beautiful home in December of 2015. When we purchased it we began doing renovations right away so that we could start taking guests as soon as possible.
We opened the B&B and hit the ground running and haven't looked back since.

This coming winter will be our 5th winter operating the B&B and if you read our post yesterday we have decided that it is time for someone else to take care of this beautiful and elegant home and enjoy it as their own or continue to share it with others as a B&B.

Even though we have decided to sell (either as a private residence or continue as a B & B) we will continue to take guests hopefully this fall and care for them as we have done faithfully in the past.

If you have ever seriously considered owning/managing a B & B there are some definite perks to the "job".
To name a few: you meet wonderful people who you share a short time with, many who return over and over, there are many tax advantages and a lot of housing expenses can be written off, there is flexibility galore in days "off or on", do part time or full time just to name a few.

Since we are remaining in Dauphin we are offering to anyone who wants to continue to run the bed and breakfast that we are more than willing to give some well-earned advice and training if desired.

We are able to pass on to you a history of great reviews and ongoing guest registrations. We have worked hard to present a top notch website and service.

We believe this is the ideal way to purchase a B&B--walk in and hands on day one. We continue taking reservations for you. No waiting for people to "find you" or "build" your business.

There are endless opportunities of developing new revenue sources through established networking ideas, as well as fresh ideas on the horizon in our community.

We are for sale as a residence or B&B (furnishings included with B&B).

If you are interested, please contact our Realtor, Nancy @ RE/MAX Parkland Realty, and know that we are happy to sit down with a serious buyer to discuss the B & B business and how it performs.

Warm regards, Connie and Brent ❤️

For our future visitors and travellers, as well as our repeat guests (we miss you), we look forward to welcoming you back to The Willow Tree Bed and Breakfast when the time is right.

During our temporary closure we have spent more time with our grandchildren, which has been wonderful and a blessing!

We have also been turning our attention to the various changes that will need to be in place when we reopen in September.

Something else we have been doing during our closure is trying new recipes.

We will be offering some lighter breakfasts, but still filling and always delicious.

Our focus will be more of a substantial, European style Continental Breakfast.

Entrees such as Prosciutto Egg Panini, Strawberry-Banana Quesadillas, Blackberry-Lemon Mascarpone Crostinis, Mediterranean egg white breakfast sandwich with roasted tomatoes, Baked Oatmeal, just to name a few!

And as always accompanied with Fresh fruit, Vanilla Greek Yogurt and our Homemade Healthy Granola.

We will update as it gets closer to opening with the necessary changes we need to make.

Have a fun and safe summer.

Due to the current health concerns with the virus, and also because of the cancellations of all the festivals and events affecting our reservations, we have decided to remain closed for the summer and will reopen in September.
Guest safety, as well as our own and our staff, also factors into our decision.
We will continue to assess conditions and will be making some necessary changes prior to opening in September.
Please be safe and have a great summer! ❤️

UPDATE:

Due to the uncertainty surrounding Covid-19, as well as our commitment to the health and safety of our guests and family members, this has been a particularly challenging time for us to navigate as a small business owner.

While we continue to monitor closely the guidelines and recommendations from Health Canada, due to the nature of our business we will remain closed until May 31, 2020. We will then reassess again at that time.

The safety of our guests and the public remain our utmost priority. We cannot in good conscience put people at risk and will continue to do our part in flattening the curve.

We will continue to reassess as this closure may extend into later months.

Stay well dear friends. 💞

While we will remain closed until this is all over, we sure do miss our guests and wonder how each and everyone of you are doing.
Hoping you are all staying well and safe.❤️🙏

While we are doing our part to distance ourselves socially and to help flatten the curve, we wanted to still do something to help spread community cheer in our neighborhood and to also support the vulnerable in our city.

Kindness is contagious too! Let's spread it! ❤️

If you're driving around River Avenue West and River Avenue East this Sunday around 6:00 p.m., you'll notice people on their driveways enjoying their favourite drink and spreading some community cheer. Brent and Connie Isaac have decided to shine some light on the current situation when so many peo....

Treat yourself to some good coffee during this time!! Better yet, why not buy some and treat a neighbor!!

We know how important coffee is to most peoples day...why not treat yourself to freshly roasted and taste the difference!

Also, to reassure you, we roast in a MB AG approved facility following all safety protocols and beyond. We get regular updates and are monitoring all recommendations.

03/14/2020

NOTICE: Due to the recent measures taken by our provincial government and the recommendations that everyone is advised to limit non essential travel because of the Covid-19 virus, we will not be charging for any last minute cancellations.

While we have always taken every precaution and are very thorough in our cleaning and sanitizing to ensure our B&B is clean and safe for our guests, and also for ourselves and our family, we ask guests who are already booked or are considering booking a stay with us, that if you have any respiratory cold symptoms or have recently traveled to the countries exposed to the virus, to kindly re-book at a later date.
If you come to the B&B and are obviously sick, you will be turned away.
This is how we are working with the rest of the country to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Please stay safe, continue to wash your hands often and practice all basic hygiene during this time.
