The Port Royal Cottage is a bright, cozy one-bedroom retreat designed for couples, solo travelers, and anyone craving a peaceful coastal reset. Step outside and take in the kind of view that makes you slow down, the rolling hills in front and behind you,
open ocean water out front, and those big Placentia Bay skies stretching on and on.

We’re so proud to begin unveiling the names of our Islands in the Bay Cottages each one rooted in the places, stories, history, and deep sense of family belonging that make Placentia Bay so meaningful. ❤️

We’re honored to begin with:

The Red Island Cottage

Inspired by Red Island in Placentia Bay, this cottage reflects the vivid red rock of our shoreline, strong outport roots, and the enduring connection to the sea that defines Newfoundland’s coastal heritage.

More than just a name, The Red Island Cottage is a tribute to home, to family, to generations past and present, and to a deep sense of belonging that lives on. It also holds a special place in our hearts, keeping the memory of someone very dear close in a meaningful way.

This is just the beginning. We look forward to sharing the stories behind each cottage as we continue celebrating the heart of Islands in the Bay.

Back in early January, we asked for your help to reach 1,000 followers… and honestly, we didn’t expect what happened next.
You got us there in just a few days. ❤️

The messages, shares, and support have meant the world to us. We're working on getting back to all of your inquiries as soon as possible.

What started as a dream is quickly becoming something real, and it’s all happening with the encouragement of this amazing community behind us.

Seeing these three beautiful cottages is a pretty proud moment. (the cottage 4 reveal will be coming soon!!🧡)

Islands In The Bay Cottages was born from a love of Placentia Bay, in Newfoundland and Labrador, and of the simple joy of welcoming people in like family. While our doors won’t officially open until 2026, our hearts are already there dreaming of cozy stays, salt air mornings, and memories waiting to be made.
