HI Edmonton HI Edmonton is a backpacker hostel in the heart of the city's coolest neighbourhood 'Old Strathcona'.

We're surrounded by everything you'll want for entertainment, eating, drinking, shopping, and much more! The beautiful River Valley trail system is only a few blocks away! We're a short walk to the university and a bus to the West Edmonton Mall is one block away.

Absolutely — shorter and with Amanda getting the spotlight:

🧘‍♀️ Sunday Yoga at HI Edmonton!

Yesterday we had our first free yoga session at the hostel, and it was a complete success! Thank you to everyone who joined us. ❤️

A special shoutout to our new Activity Coordinator, Amanda, for leading the session!

Yoga will now be happening every Sunday, so if you’re staying with us, come join us for a moment to unwind, relax, and recharge. 🧘

We had such a good time at our very first Snacks & Draw yesterday! 🎨

Turns out, taking a little break to chill, enjoy some snacks, make some art, and meet new people is a pretty good way to spend an evening. Safe to say, this one was a hit — we’re definitely doing it again!

Travel isn’t always about going, going, going. Sometimes it’s about slowing down, taking a breath, enjoying where you are, and sharing a good moment with the people around you.

The Edmonton Fringe Festival never disappoints! 🎭

We had such a good time checking out amazing plays, street performers, tasty food, and all the little surprises happening around the festival.

We’re pretty lucky to have all of this happening just a few minutes from the hostel. It’s one of those Edmonton events that makes summer feel extra special.
