We have been struggling to capture the Great Egrets and Trumpeter Swans in one shot. This morning we got a couple.

There is something so satisfying about being up before the sun to prepare a full-house breakfast table. Good times!

Quick heads up for anybody wanting to use the Elora Cataract Trailway next week. It is a relatively small section of the trail. A 1km walk will get you to the 6th Line gate and a short drive will get you to a small parking area on the 4th Line.

Credit Valley Conservation will be closing a portion of the Elora Cataract Trail, from Station Street to 6th Line on August 4, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This closure will allow crews to preform some geotechnical investigation work as part of the design for two culvert replacements.
Signs have been posted along the trail, including under the “Advisories” section of the trail sign at the Station Street parking lot beside the Hillsburgh library.

Ever been to a truly small town celebration? This event has been going on for a long time and even though ordering for chicken dinners is closed, there is still lots of fun for everyone to enjoy. We have one room available the night before and, if you want to stay up late to watch the fireworks, you have your pick of rooms. We hope to see you soon!

Join us at the Orton Community Park this Canada Day! The Orton Community Association is hosting a full day of family fun—games, food, music, and fireworks to celebrate Canada’s birthday. And what better way to show your pride than by wearing an Orton T-shirt!

Grab yours and celebrate with us. Bring your friends, bring your family—let’s make this Canada Day unforgettable!

Move and Talk - Learn About Walking with Poles!
Welcome our Instructor Nancy to our Move & Talk event to Learn About Walking with Poles!

Join the Elora Cataract Trailway Association for a bit about pole walking. Evidence based research proves pole walking improves gait, balance, posture and core strength while inspiring active living.

Come and be instructed, encouraged and motivated by Certified Urban Pole Walking Instructor Nancy Revie. We’ll practice what we’ve learned.

Date & Time: Sunday, June 28, 2026, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Forfar Park, 605 Gartshore St, Fergus, Ontario

The session will take place at Forfar Park and on the Elora Cataract Trailway from the Gartshore trail entrance to the 1st Line trail entrance — approximately a 2.6 km roundtrip.

A few things to consider:
• Bring walking poles if you have them
• Wear appropriate footwear for a trail walk
• Bring a water bottle and a way to carry it such as a backpack
• Free parking and washrooms are available at Forfar Park

Event will be held rain or shine.

No registration required — just show up, learn, practice walking with poles, or just walk with us!

This event is free; however, we welcome donations in support of the Elora Cataract Trailway Association and to show our appreciation to Certified Instructor Nancy Revie.
