Jesse Plessis is a Canadian pianist and composer in doctoral studies in composition at McGill University with Philippe Leroux, funded by the Schulich Excellence Fellowship. He was born in Sparwood British Columbia, and belongs to the Métis Nation of British Columbia. He studied piano and composition at the University of Lethbridge, Brandon University, took classes with Norma Fischer in England and Edith Fischer in Switzerland, and holds a doctorate in piano performance from the Université de Montréal. As a pianist Jesse maintains a full performing schedule, and has performed across Canada and Europe. His compositions have been performed all over Canada and the U.S.A. by many groups and musicians including the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Brittany Rae, Jonathon Adams, the Land’s End Chamber Ensemble. When he is not busy performing, practicing, composing, teaching, and walking his dog, Jesse enjoys running, surfing, kung-fu, and yoga whenever he can.

Driving up the driveway last eve, one of Elk View Lodge's wilderness pets was there to greet me under the stars. I rolled down my window in the car next to him, and took this picture. Then I noticed 3 more resting around the yard, as they often do. I love them hanging out!
