E is for Exhaust System.

Gentech Field Services is looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to join our team in a full-time, permanent, labour-first position.

You’ll work alongside our technicians, supporting generator preparation, deliveries, service work, equipment handling, and general shop and field duties while gaining hands-on experience in the industry.

For the right person, there is an opportunity to grow. After 6–12 months of strong, consistent performance, an apprenticeship opportunity toward becoming a Journeyman Heavy-Duty Technician may be offered.

We want to hear from you if you:

• Have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence, clean driver’s abstract and reliable transportation
• Are legally eligible to work in Canada
• Can lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work
• Are comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Have mechanical aptitude and are comfortable with tools and equipment
• Are dependable, hardworking and willing to learn

We’re expanding our preventative maintenance services.

Gentech Field Services now offers Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Preventative Maintenance and Inspection Services.

Your generator is one part of your emergency power system. During an outage, the ATS is responsible for transferring the building's electrical load from utility power to generator power.

Routine transfer testing is important, but preventative maintenance allows the ATS itself to be inspected, cleaned and assessed for potential deficiencies or worn components.

By having your generator and ATS maintained by Gentech Field Services, you can simplify scheduling and maintenance records while helping keep your complete emergency power system ready to operate.

What changes when your generator reaches its annual preventative maintenance inspection?

The annual inspection builds on the previous inspection intervals with a much more comprehensive assessment of your emergency power system.

In accordance with CSA C282-15, annual maintenance introduces additional engine servicing, fuel quality testing, electrical and control panel inspections, transfer switch maintenance, overcurrent protective device testing and a 2-hour full-load test.

It's an opportunity to look beyond routine operation and assess how the mechanical, electrical, fuel and transfer systems are performing together.

At Gentech Field Services, our annual preventative maintenance inspections are performed in accordance with CSA C282-15 to help support compliance, identify deficiencies and keep your emergency power system ready when it's needed most.

Gaskets may be small, but they have an important job.

Gaskets create seals between engine components, helping keep oil, coolant, fuel, and exhaust gases where they belong. When a gasket's seal becomes compromised, leaks can develop, and what starts as minor seepage may be an early sign of a developing issue.

That's why looking for leaks is an important part of routine generator inspection and maintenance.

Not every leak means the same thing. Its location, severity, and cause should be assessed to determine the appropriate repair.

Detailed documentation shows what was inspected and tested, what work was completed, what deficiencies were identified, and what still requires attention.
