Slippery Winds Wilderness Lodge is a remote, full-service, fly-in fishing lodge located only 38 air Slippery Winds is the only lodge located on our lakes.

Slippery Winds Wilderness Lodge is a fly-in, American-Plan fishing lodge located 38 air miles north of Fort Frances, ON. Our guests have the opportunity to angle for 6 species of sport fish on six different lakes.

With the recent hot temperatures, the water has started to warm up and the walleye are becoming more active and the bass are finally moving onto their beds. Guests are still catching lake trout in shallow water with a couple caught in less than 2 feet of water along the shoreline while casting for bass.

Our season was off to a late start, with the colder than normal spring delaying our arrival at the lodge.

The recent turnaround in the weather with temps in the mid-to-high 80's F is helping to warm the water.

We are just starting to see the largemouth move onto their spawning beds and the walleye are starting to become more active as the water warms-up.

Both guests and staff enjoy ed our first shore dinner of the 2026 season. Nothing like fresh fish cooked over an open fire!
