Last summer, we replanted our grandfather’s old potato garden. It was completely grown in and full of weeds and rocks. Last fall, our bounty was small, but this fall is proving much better.

A hike to Hamilton’s Cove with Mary Patterson (Carey) this week. We explored the former St. Joseph’s graveyard and site of the church.
Our community members are so dedicated to maintaining this area. We hope to see a fundraiser soon to allow for continued work with cleaning up the old graveyard, church site and trail. From Hamilton’s Cove, you can continue to Webber’s Bite and that road passes the Bite Hill Cemetery, which is also in need of repair. There’s pictures posted in the photo section of the GIllespie House page showing a lot of these headstones and records for the Webber’s Bite cemetery can be found on the NL Genweb site.
