We often get days in the winter when these clouds cover the whole valley but when you get up the ski lift you pop out of it and it's really beautiful to ski above it...we call it the Kooteney Sea!

The Red Mountain Ski Bus picks up and drops off just out our front door!
BC Transit, the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary and the Regional District of Central Kootenay are advising customers that the West Kootenay Transit system ski bus to Red Mountain returns on December 14, 2024.

For winter sport enthusiasts, Red Mountain & Whitewater Ski Resorts are 35-50 minutes away by car. Champion Lakes Provincial Park is just down the road, where you can access cross country & snowshoe trails.
In the warmer months, visit Champion Lakes' sandy beach for swimming & paddleboarding. Disc golfers will love the impressive Marsh Creek course, which is a mere 5 kms away. There is lots of fantastic golf, mountain biking & hiking in the area too! If you're into fishing & boating, the Pend D'Oreille River & Arrow Lakes are close by.
There is a city bus stop directly in front of the house. The bus goes into Trail, and in the winter, the Ski Bus goes to Red Mountain!
