It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our beloved guide and friend Lowell Patterson. He was a calming presence on the Saint John River and a beacon of positive energy. Lowell always brought his love and passion for fishing with him out on the water, his wisdom was a gift to any angler, experienced or beginner. And his talent for fly tying will forever be legendary. He will be greatly missed.

Warm, generous and funny, Gordie Drody brings so much more than his expertise to the fishing experience. Having now been with The Saint John Club for twelve years, he guides with the precision of a brain surgeon: “take one step down river...” “now, two steps out...” He will slowly and deliberately ease you right into where the biggest fish lay. His cheerful disposition makes him delightful company out on the river. He’s always happy to discuss any topic under the sun, from moose hunting to Irish settlers in the region going back to the 1800s. And though he was born and raised there, he’s still amazed by the natural beauty that surrounds him. His love and passion for the Gaspe, its beauty and its history, are sure to make you fall in love with it too.
