Let’s Talk Trash
As we all work together to keep our campground clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone, we wanted to provide a friendly reminder about the proper use of our garbage bins.
The garbage bins are intended for regular household garbage only. They are not designed to accommodate large or bulky items such as furniture, lawn mowers, Styrofoam, oversized materials, or large cardboard boxes. Similar to municipal waste programs, cardboard should be broken down into smaller, manageable pieces before being placed in the bins.
Recently, we have noticed an increase in garbage and debris being left around the bins and throughout the meadow. While we do our best to maintain the grounds, improper use of the bins creates additional challenges and impacts the appearance and enjoyment of the campground for everyone.
If you have large items that need to be disposed of, we kindly ask that you take them directly to your local landfill or appropriate disposal facility. Arnes Landfill is located on Lake Forest Road, 9km west of Highway 8. It’s open 7 days a week, from 10am to 6pm.
To address the ongoing issue of improper waste disposal, fines will be issued to anyone found misusing the garbage bins or leaving oversized items in the garbage area.
