🥾 75 Minutes, to celebrate 75 years!

2026 marks the 75th anniversary of Maitland Conservation. We’re hosting several events to celebrate this milestone including the 75-Minute Hiking Challenge.

Spend 75-minutes exploring one of our Conservation Areas and enter the draw for a chance to win.

You’re welcome to visit any of our properties but we encourage you to take a walk at a Conservation Area where there are maintained trails:

🌳George Taylor Conservation Area – 42679 Canada Company Rd., Municipality of Huron East

🌳Falls Reserve Conservation Area – 80900 Falls Reserve Line, Benmiller (day-use pass required)

🌳Naftel’s Creek Conservation Area – 79154 Bluewater Highway, south of Goderich

🌳Wawanosh Valley Conservation Area – 38854 Nature Centre Rd., Township of North Huron

🌳Gorrie Conservation Area – 2033 Victoria St., Gorrie, Township of Howick. The Township of Howick maintains a walking trail on the north side of the property.

🌳Lake Wawanosh Conservation Area – 85442 Creek Line, Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh. The trails on this property are not maintained but it’s a great spot to kayak or canoe. Hitting the water for 75-minutes definitely counts!

🌳Brussels Conservation Area – 80 Alfred St., Brussels, Municipality of Huron East. An urban park that’s perfect for short walks.

With school wrapping up and vacation season beginning for many, there's no better time to get outside and enjoy the trails right here in our watershed.

⚠️ Safety reminder for all visitors

Falls Reserve Conservation Area is home to beautiful natural landscapes, scenic lookouts and the stunning falls.

As you enjoy these natural features, please use caution and stay a safe distance back from the edges of lookouts, cliffs and steep slopes.

There's so much bird activity at FRCA right now...still quite a few warblers around and it was terrific to hear and then catch sight of a cuckoo recently. Thanks Cornell Lab Merlin Bird ID app! Seen anything interesting lately? Drop us a note in the comments.

Please note that this is different from the Maitland Conservation Administration Office in Wroxeter. Be sure to enter the Falls Reserve address into your GPS when heading to the campground.

A reminder to all visitors:
• E-bikes are not permitted on park trails
• E-bike riders must be 16 years of age or older
• Helmets are required when operating an e-bike
• Please obey all posted speed limits and traffic signs on park roadways

With extra vehicle and pedestrian traffic and lots of families enjoying the park, we appreciate everyone doing their part to keep the campground safe.
