After another great saltwater Salmon season comes to an end it's time to give back to the rivers and the fish with the annual egg take on the Gold River. Under the careful direction of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans staff from Conuma Hatchery many likeminded stewards of the fish gathered on the banks of the Gold River last week to capture Chinook Salmon brood stock. It was a very successful day as we made a bountiful set for mature fish at the Big Bend Pool of the lower Gold. This egg take along with the other great work being done in our area insures a solid future for our native fish runs and increases our sport fishing opportunities. The Lodge at Gold River is proud to be an active partner in making a difference to our local rivers and streams.
