e currently have one luxuriously rustic handcrafted dovetail log cabin ready for your base for mountain adventure! In our cabin you can curl up under a blanket by the wood stove after an adventurous day out in the mountains. We have built our cabin with sustainable and eco-friendly methods. Our logs have been sustainably harvested off our ranch or through small family run wood lots. We have incorporated green technology and will be adding more as we grow. Toilets consume an astonishing amount of water, so to preserve our environment we have chosen to use composting toilet technology. Surrounding Area & Activities
Our cabin is tucked away on an amazing 160 acre working ranch in the middle of three mountain ranges about 20 minutes North of Golden, BC. The Central Main Range is our backyard, and the Selkirk and Monashee Ranges are our front yard. If there are no clouds at night we can see the Milky Way. Out here on the ranch, the serenity and wonder of microscopic flora and fauna to the vastness of the stars, make it a place where the finger prints of creation become obvious from our perspective. We have winter wonderand amounts of snow - on average nearly 12 feet. The snow rarely has any melt cycle in the winter because Chinook conditions, like our Albertan friends to the East, don't occur here. This cabin is your base for relaxing, unplugging, backcountry skiing, downhill skiing, dog sledding, mountain biking, hiking, snowmobiling, climbing, whitewater rafting, paragliding, horseback riding, fishing and many more adventures! This cabin is across the road from our working ranch. Depending on our schedule, there are paid ranch tours available. We currently have milking cows, chickens, and pigs. You can visit our Whisper Ranch website here for more information. In distant earshot from our cabin we have roosters that crow, cows that moo and livestock guardian dogs that bark. We don't hear them, but probably because they are the soothing sounds of the ranch to us. Some nights are louder than others. If you are a light sleeper you may hear farm noises at night. There are no city noises here, so you may also hear the sounds of other local wildlife. It's the real deal here. We have eggs & pork currently available in our small farm store on a honor payment system.
