June is a beautiful month on Grand Manan Island.

As the island comes alive for the summer season, you will find coastal trails waiting to be explored, fresh ocean air around every corner, and later this month, the island's famous lupins beginning to bloom in vibrant shades of purple and pink.

Starting Monday, June 8, both ferries will be operational providing day-time service every two hours. This gives visitors even more options and flexibility to plan their island getaway.

Whether you are thinking about a day trip filled with sightseeing or an overnight stay to experience one of Grand Manan's unforgettable sunsets, June is the perfect time to visit.

The North Head Campground and Park is now open for the season!

We are happy to welcome campers, hikers, and visitors to our beautiful island. The hiking trails and observation areas are ready for you to explore from Swallowtail Lighthouse to the Hole-in-the-Wall.

Island restaurants are open for the season: the Seaquel, Postoffice Pizza, Sunrise Seafoods (cash only), The Harbour Grille, Newton's Mercantile & Café and High Seas Convenience.
Check their websites for hours of operation.

Saturdays, the Community Center hosts the Community Market 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Visit gift shops which offers a wonderful inventory of local crafts, gifts, and apparel. Pettes Cove Arts is just steps away from the campground.

North Head Campground and Park officially opens for the season on May 15th, and reservations are now open.

Looking for a peaceful early-season escape? Heritage House and The Annex have 3-day and week-long stays available throughout May and June. Step right outside your door and wander through the adjacent wetlands, open green spaces, and a beautiful mix of trees and shrubs, perfect for spotting migrating birds. And while you are exploring the island, do not miss the stunning burst of yellow forsythia in full bloom.

Campsites are available May 15th through September 20th, offering the perfect home base to soak up everything Grand Manan has to offer.

September is a relaxed magical time to easily explore Grand Manan Island, with crisp air, brilliant ocean views, and trails lined with migrating birds among the autumn foliage.

We have week-end camping sites available this weekend and the next.

As the season winds down, North Head Campground will officially close for the season on September 29th, 2025.

Already dreaming about next summer? Our website will be updated in March and 2026 reservations will open shortly after.

There is still time to experience Grand Manan Island this summer.

September is a beautiful time of the year to explore. Both ferries are in service all month long, so whether you are looking for an extended visit or a day trip, there are plenty of options.

This weekend is the last Community Market of the summer from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at the Community Center. Whether you are looking for tasty treats, a lobster roll, freshly harvested dulse or new art work or crafts to take home—there is something for everyone.

The Grand Manan Art Gallery has a new show running until September 12th featuring Fred Harrison painting, Andrew Giffin painting, photography and sculptures, and Roger Lewis photography.

A walk out to Swallowtail Lighthouse is a must! Visitors have reported whale sightings recently and sunrise from Swallowtail is something to be experienced.

If you're visiting Grand Manan Island this week, there is so much to do and explore!

While our trails and viewing decks are closed until further notice due to extreme dry conditions, the forecast is calling for excellent beach weather this week! Pack a beach bag and visit Stanley Beach, Seal Cove Beach, Deep Cove and more!

Visit the many gift shops sprinkled across the island or stop by the Grand Manan Art Gallery to view the latest exhibit—it's air conditioned!

Consider hopping a free ferry to White Head Island to see their beautiful beaches and the White Head Lighthouse.

The island has many wonderful restaurants to choose from with something for everyone!

Special fun for children and all ages is the Discovery Trail enjoyed on the hike to the Hole in the Wall.

Stop by the Reception Area to pick up a Discovery Guide when visiting the North Head Campground and Park this summer.

Visit Fish Head Deck for stunning coastal views. Explore to the left or the right of the deck to see spectacular rock formations, a short walk in either direction.

After you have finished your hike, check out the Grand Manan Art Gallery, open seven days a week with a new exhibit featuring artists Helen Shideler & Dale Cook, Pam Hills, and Kelley Joyce-Floyd opening this Sunday, July 13th.

New on the island this year is the Seal Cove Wellness & Cultural Centre, home to a variety of community events and activities, including a gift and craft shop.

The Trapped Deck in Grand Harbour is open for the season. Enjoy a cold beverage and their famous lobster dip with a side of live music.

Summer has arrived, and so have the campers and hikers to North Head Campground and Park.

The Discovery Trail is ready for young and old on their hike to the Hole in the Wall.

Now through September, two ferries sail daily to the island, offering more opportunities to visit Grand Manan Island.

There are 7 daily crossings. Visitors can leave Blacks Harbour on the 7:30 or 9:30 am ferry for a day trip and return on the 7:15 pm ferry in the evening.

Ferry reservations are strongly recommended.
