We invite you to have a whale of a time on Grand Manan Island 🐋

Whales, porpoises and seals are frolicking below the clifftop observation decks in the North Head Campground and Park and Hole in the Wall, entertaining campers and families alike!

August is an excellent time of the year to book a whale watching trip on the island, with two tour companies to choose from:

Lambert Family Adventures Whale and Wildlife Tours departing from North Head Fisherman's Wharf with three tours a day (9 am, 12 pm, 3 pm) and Sea Watch Tours departing from Seal Cove Wharf at 12 pm (dates and times may vary).

Visit the Grand Manan Art Gallery and its newest exhibit beginning August 23rd, featuring work from Carolyn Krotz-Mosher (Painting), Fred Harrison (Painting), Janice Bellew (Painting), Svitlana Goncharova (Watercolours).

Upcoming events and talks at the Grand Manan Museum include From Smoke Sheds to Studios with Peter Bleumortier on Tuesday, August 25th and Gemstones & Geology on Grand Manan with Greg McHone on Thursday, August 27th.

Happy New Brunswick Day Weekend!

If you are spending the long weekend with us at North Head Campground & Park, you are in for a fantastic few days! Grand Manan is buzzing with events, live music, local art, and family fun.

The Right Mighty Festival runs Friday, July 31 through Sunday, August 2, with a weekend full of family-friendly activities, entertainment, and fun for all ages.

Island Fest is on Sunday, August 2nd and Monday, August 3rd. Enjoy two days of incredible live music from talented performers.

Grand Manan Rotary Chicken BBQ is this Sunday, August 2nd at the Anchorage beginning at 12:30 pm, while supplies last. A longtime island favourite, come early before it is sold out!

The Grand Manan Art Gallery will be closed on Saturday while staff prepare for a beautiful new exhibit opening on Sunday, August 2 at 1:00 pm.

July is summer on Grand Manan Island.

June is a beautiful month on Grand Manan Island.

As the island comes alive for the summer season, you will find coastal trails waiting to be explored, fresh ocean air around every corner, and later this month, the island's famous lupins beginning to bloom in vibrant shades of purple and pink.

Starting Monday, June 8, both ferries will be operational providing day-time service every two hours. This gives visitors even more options and flexibility to plan their island getaway.

Whether you are thinking about a day trip filled with sightseeing or an overnight stay to experience one of Grand Manan's unforgettable sunsets, June is the perfect time to visit.

The North Head Campground and Park is now open for the season!

We are happy to welcome campers, hikers, and visitors to our beautiful island. The hiking trails and observation areas are ready for you to explore from Swallowtail Lighthouse to the Hole-in-the-Wall.

Island restaurants are open for the season: the Seaquel, Postoffice Pizza, Sunrise Seafoods (cash only), The Harbour Grille, Newton's Mercantile & Café and High Seas Convenience.
Check their websites for hours of operation.

Saturdays, the Community Center hosts the Community Market 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Visit gift shops which offers a wonderful inventory of local crafts, gifts, and apparel. Pettes Cove Arts is just steps away from the campground.

North Head Campground and Park officially opens for the season on May 15th, and reservations are now open.

Looking for a peaceful early-season escape? Heritage House and The Annex have 3-day and week-long stays available throughout May and June. Step right outside your door and wander through the adjacent wetlands, open green spaces, and a beautiful mix of trees and shrubs, perfect for spotting migrating birds. And while you are exploring the island, do not miss the stunning burst of yellow forsythia in full bloom.

Campsites are available May 15th through September 20th, offering the perfect home base to soak up everything Grand Manan has to offer.
