This is Jessica.

I met Jessica in early March this year at a the Soul Ignition Retreat in San Pancho, Mexico, hosted by Jen McCarthy and Melissa Enyedy.

Jessica and I didn’t get to spend too much time together during the retreat with the various programming going on. But in late April, she came to visit me at Villa Sol, during a time when we both had the space to properly connect.

We easily spent hours getting to know each other a little better — so much so that we both ended up staying up way past our bedtimes. 💛

As I’m writing this, I can hear Jessica speak.

There is something about her voice that, for me, is incredibly soothing. And maybe it isn’t simply her voice. Maybe it’s her vibration. The frequency she carries. The person she is.

I feel incredibly grateful to be attending her upcoming retreat here at Villa Sol on October 2-4.

Initially, I didn’t sign up. I wanted to leave space for other women to attend. But the closer we get to the date, the more I’ve realized that I need to be there too. I want to give that time to myself.

There’s something about being around women who inspire you. Women you know you will learn from. Women you know will support and enrich you in ways you may not completely understand yet, but somehow you just know.

This is a photo I took of Jessica in San Pancho during our retreat together in Mexico. I happened to have my phone with me, and she had just finished making her mala bead necklace — the one she’s proudly wearing around her neck.

I’m so happy I met her then. And I’m so happy she is bringing her beautiful voice and her work to Villa Sol.

I’ve shared her retreat directly with a few of you, and sometimes timing simply doesn’t align. I’ve come to trust that the right people come when it’s time to share space together.

There’s something magical — and divine — about that.

If this is calling you, I encourage you to register or DM Jessica directly for more information.

Sometimes we need to give ourselves the gift of being in the presence of others. 💛

ps. Those are her beautiful sound bowls in photo number two and I cannot wait to hear her play. And I’m hoping she brings her goddess gong 😉

He’s been tending gardens for 30 years. He’s never had a wild bird do this. 🐦✨

This little bird followed him around Villa Sol all day — landing on his shoes, arms, shoulders and back as he worked.

Maybe it was the freshly turned soil. Maybe it was trust. Either way, it felt pretty magical.

When you tend the land, nature responds. 🌿🐦✨

The largest male orca we’ve ever seen in our bay swam right past the house this morning—in what was probably just 4–5 feet of water.

And that was only the beginning.

We were treated to about 10 minutes of incredible orca activity right in front of Villa Sol. After the male passed through, we noticed three more orcas off the west side of Eagle Island.

I’m not sure if it was a mother with two calves, but it looked like a family group.

At one point, one or two of the orcas started porpoising right in front of the house. We didn’t capture it on video, but it was incredible to witness.

Just another reminder of how wild and magical the Sunshine Coast really is. 💙🐋

I’m fairly certain that this is the first time I have seen a full rainbow.

8:20am today directly in front of Villa Sol. Not part of the rainbow. But the whole entire arc.

A good friend sent this to me: Seeing a full rainbow symbolizes hope, good luck, and new beginnings. It often represents a peaceful sign that a hard time in your life is ending.

I’ve been staying in Seaview Suite these past few nights — our suite closest to the ocean — and I still look out in disbelief sometimes.

The water is just… right there.

A few feet away.

It feels a little surreal to sit on the lowest level of the house and watch the ocean move this close to you. The light changes by the minute. The sound of the waves reaches you before you even open the door.

We know what we have here is rare and special. Places built this close to the shoreline simply wouldn’t happen today.

And honestly, even as I write this, I’m still in awe of it.

This place is magical beyond words

This beautiful piece of art was created by Maya, an extremely talented artist who I will work with and learn from. We will also one day host workshops together at Villa Sol and beyond. I’m grateful to know her.

While sitting and watching the ocean go by, I grabbed one of my favourite books by Richard Wagamese: One Drum

I flipped to this page and couldn’t believe it.

There is another story which I may share at some point regarding this piece. But for now, I’ll leave this here.

Check out her work:

You can feel it starting to shift…

The air gets softer
The sun stays longer
And then you remember
how good it feels to be in your body again

Warm days are coming

The kind where you slow down
step into the water
and just… be

This is your reminder
it’s closer than you think

Save this for when you need it 🌿🌊✨
