Dear Friends
Our journey started the 1st of April 1984.
I had flown in the day before from Paris and arrived in a place
that could only be truly described as a perfect postcard of Canada.
The silence and the sounds were at first disconcerting, very different
from those on Isle St Louis but in the morning you could not help but
feel restored.
The early dew on the grass around the cabins and the morning fog on
the calm waters of Drag Lake were always magical.
I guess that's when we decided to change the name, to Domain of Killien
Over the years we had lots of laughs, lots of tears and made many friends.
One day maybe someone will write a book on why a Count and Countess
fell in love with the Haliburton Highlands. But for now, we would like
to say thank you to all of you that came, understood, and shared with
us, year after year, our little piece of Paradise.
I sincerely hope that after 28 years you all have now mastered
"The Art of Doing Nothing Beautifully ".
From the Count and Countess de Moustier, Jean Edouard de Marenches, all the staff over the years and myself, we say goodbye.
