🎬 HSR Presents: The Camp Files — Episode 3: Camp Nurse

Keeping camp healthy, happy, and adventure-ready all summer long. 🩹🌲

From bumps and bruises to bug bites, headaches, upset stomachs, medications, unexpected injuries, and everything in between, our Camp Nurse is there to help campers and staff get the care they need so they can get back to enjoying everything HSR has to offer.

Did you know? HSR has a nurse on staff every week throughout the summer to support both our campers and our staff. Having someone right at camp who can assess what’s going on, provide care, offer reassurance, and help determine next steps is such an important part of keeping camp running safely.

Basically: part nurse, part problem-solver, part reassurance expert, and definitely the master of bumps, bruises, bug bites… and everything in between. 😉

It was a pleasure welcoming MP Jamie Schmale and his team to Haliburton Scout Reserve last week! 🏕️

We’re grateful for the opportunity to share a little of what makes HSR such a special place and to showcase the impact our staff, programs and community have each summer.

A big thank you to Jamie and his team for taking the time to visit, and for their continued support of HSR through the Canada Summer Jobs program. This support helps us provide meaningful summer employment opportunities while continuing to deliver incredible outdoor experiences at camp.

Swimming, paddling, splashing, chaos… they’ve got eyes on it all.

Basically: professional fun-havers with lifeguard certifications and a permanent head count running in the background. 😎🌊

Before campers arrive… and long after they leave… there’s a team working behind the scenes.

From docks and buildings to boats, and the countless unexpected fixes that pop up every day, our Maintenance crew are always hard at work making sure HSR is ready for every adventure.

It’s not always the most visible role—but it’s such an important one.

Thursdays at HSR can only mean one thing… REGATTA DAY! 🌊

Break out the Hawaiian shirts, warm up those dance moves, and get ready for one of the most anticipated traditions of the week! 🎉

The waterfront comes alive as camp groups come together for an afternoon packed with canoe races, swimming challenges, friendly competition, music, laughs, and plenty of camp spirit. Whether you’re racing across the lake or cheering from the sidelines, Regatta is all about celebrating summer, teamwork, and making memories that last long after camp is over.

There’s nothing quite like one big party on the water. 🌴🚣☀️
