Halifax Backpackers Hostels: City & Beach We are your home away from home! We are open and ready to welcome you back. We have made many changes in order to ensure your safety during the pandemic.

For 20 years, Halifax Backpackers has provided affordable accommodations for international and Canadian travellers seeking an authentic Nova Scotian experience. We have substantially reduced the number of guests we host. Masks are required in all common areas and hand sanitizer in all of our rooms. Our staff have updated cleaning protocols to ensure your safety. We have made the necessary changes

to make sure you can comfortably enjoy and explore Nova Scotia. Our ideally located hotel is surrounded by the best restaurants, independent arts and live music that Halifax has to offer. If you are seeking a connection to local history, art, and potential collaborators, this is your place. Our onsite cafe is woven into the fabric of the community. You can wake up in the morning to delicious strong coffee, artisanal lattes, fresh local dishes and independent music (following our Spotify is a must). In the evening we serve up local brews and wine. We have been serving guests for over 20 years and hospitality is at the heart of what we do. Our staff and owners are avid travellers who know exactly what you need to make your trip to Nova Scotia unforgettable. Whether you are here to explore Halifax, meet like minded people, work on your next entrepreneurial project, or unplug for a while in a new city we have rates and rooms that will accommodate your needs. We know that strong reliable WIFI and clean safe spaces set the stage for you to comfortably enjoy your stay. Let us show you around. Our space is equally comfortable for a 2 day stay or spending your first few months building community and connecting with the resources to make Halifax your home. Our historic Nova Scotian building is over 100 years old and survived the Halifax explosion. It boasts 10 ft ceilings and original hardwood floors. Our handcrafted bunks are spacious and comfortable. We are situated on all major bus routes and close to many amenities. Friday and Saturday nights the bar has dance parties until midnight.
