This Sunday, our CEO PJ Mercanti is taking on the 30km Around the Bay Road Race, turning a personal goal into something much bigger.

Alongside family, friends and colleagues, PJ is helping raise $100,000 in support of St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation, a place that has cared for generations in our community, including PJ himself.

We are proud to stand behind this incredible effort and the impact it will have on patient care, research, and vital equipment needs at St. Joe’s.

2026 marks the 132nd running of the Around the Bay Road Race and the 22nd year St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation has served as the official charity partner of this iconic Hamilton event. Over that time, nearly $6 million has been raised to support patient care, research, mental health initiatives, robotic surgery, and essential medical equipment at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.

This year, funds raised through the Bay Race will support the purchase of much-needed medical equipment. While hospitals receive operational funding from the province, investments in new technology and the replacement of aging equipment rely almost entirely on donations and community-supported events like the Bay Race.

We are especially proud to share that PJ Mercanti, CEO of Carmens Group, has been named the 2026 Community Champion for St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton

A lifelong Hamiltonian, PJ was born at St. Joseph’s and has recently joined the Foundation’s Board of Directors. He is currently training to run the full 30K Around the Bay route and is aiming to raise $100,000 in support of Hamilton’s hospital.

Yesterday, our Carmens Group team came together for the 4th annual dodgeball tournament, bringing friendly competition and team spirit to the court!

Each March, team members from across our venues gather for an afternoon of sports, camaraderie, and a little healthy rivalry. What started as a fun idea four years ago has quickly become a beloved tradition—and one we look forward to every year!

This year’s champions? Team Red! 🏅 Congrats to all who played, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!

We’re proud to bring Kicks for Kids back for its 17th season alongside the , continuing a tradition that makes a real difference in our community. Last year, this impactful program raised $2,500 to provide new shoes for local youth supported by .⁠

Through the accomplishments of the Tiger-Cats field goal kickers, Kicks for Kids helps raise funds to purchase running shoes for underprivileged children.
