One of the greatest gifts of hosting Samson’s Retreat is the people.

Guests like Laurie and Lee have become more than visitors. When they come back and we’re greeting each other with a hug, it reminds me that this little retreat has become a place where genuine connections are made.

Bill and I can’t wait to see them next time.

I’m excited to share something new at Samson’s Retreat.

Along with my memoirs and children’s books, guests can now browse a growing collection of my one-of-a-kind sea glass art and original Heritage Windows.

Each piece is handcrafted using genuine sea glass I personally collect from the beaches of Hampden. My Heritage Windows are created from reclaimed Newfoundland windows, giving new life to a little piece of our history.

Bill and I just finished cleaning The Healing Place NL at Samson’s Retreat Airbnb.

There was a time when I couldn’t work at all.

Today, I get to care for a space that welcomes travellers, hosts healing retreats, and has become part of the life I once only dreamed of.

It’s not glamorous. There are beds to make, laundry to fold, floors to clean, and paperwork that never seems to end.

But I don’t take a single bit of it for granted. I truly believed I’d never work again but I’ll soon be 68, and I’ve finally got my life back.

Now I spend my days caring for this little place, welcoming guests, and helping people heal.

Healing is possible. There is hope.

And getting to go to work in my pajamas isn’t too bad either. 😉❤️

More than an Airbnb…

Many people know Samson’s Retreat as a cozy Airbnb tucked away on Newfoundland’s beautiful west coast.

What many don’t realize is that it’s also home to The Healing Place NL , where I offer nervous system regulation, body-centred healing, Reiki, and guided healing sessions.

Last night we welcomed guests who had simply booked a place to stay. As we chatted, they became curious about the healing space and asked about the work I do.

By the end of our conversation, they told me they would be back to experience the healing work as well.
